Steve Boyland is a UK-based vocalist and performance/sound artist. His practice, which locates itself in the embodied, improvisational voice, explores the expressive, energetic and metaphysical possibilities of spontaneous sounding and its various interdisciplinary contexts and spatial environments. Working both as a solo artist and in multi-disciplinary collaborations with other artists and academics, he creates live performance and sound installations in art galleries, concert halls, theatres and other public spaces in the UK and internationally. In 2025 he was appointed UL Adjunct Professor in the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance and in 2026, he was awarded an Arts Fellowship by the Foro Di Studi Avanzati, Rome.
